Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, has announced a $5,000 Foundation grant to the MetroWest Meds program of the Natick Visiting Nurse Association (Natick VNA), the region’s premier free-standing not-for-profit home health care agency.
MetroWest Meds assists residents of all ages in Natick VNA’s 22-town service area in accessing free drug programs offered by major pharmaceutical companies; discount pharmacy programs; and low-cost drug prescriptions available through the MetroWest Meds Pharmacy Card.
Since it was introduced in 2004, MetroWest Meds has served over 4,500 clients and has saved over $6.4 million in prescription drug costs, according to Natick VNA CEO Judith Boyko, MBA, MS, RN. More than half of the people served by the program live in Framingham and Natick.
“MetroWest Meds helps thousands of people in our marketplace with prescribed medications they rely on,” said Haranas. “MutualOne is proud to partner with Natick VNA to keep this vital resource available to area residents.”
