The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $5,000 to the Natick Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) to support the MetroWest Meds program, which gives low-income individuals access to prescription medications at low or no cost.
Since the program began in 2004, MetroWest Meds has served over 5,000 clients and saved over $7 million in prescription drug costs. This is the sixth consecutive year the MutualOne Foundation has supported MetroWest Meds.
Announcement of the recent grant was made by Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee.
“We’re pleased to help the VNA provide uninsured or underinsured individuals with access to medications they need to remain healthy,’ said Haranas. “More than half of the people enrolled in the program are from Framingham and Natick. These are our neighbors; we want to help.”
