With its recent awards totaling $750 to the Lake Cochituate Watershed Council, the MutualOne Charitable Foundation will be the primary co-sponsor of two local Earth Day events: Natick Green-up Week and the Natick Earth Day Festival’s Creature Teachers exhibit.
According to Foundation Chairman Robert P. Lamprey, the first annual Natick Green-up Week involves volunteer clean-up along major Town roadways in preparation for the Natick Earth Day Festival that will take place on Sunday, April 26 at the Natick Common. The Foundation’s $250 award will help purchase the necessary supplies for the clean-up project. In addition, MutualOne Bank employees will be volunteering their services during the week.
A $500 Foundation award will sponsor the return of the Creature Teacher exhibit at the Natick Earth Day Festival. The popular program is a hands-on experience for children and includes snakes, turtles, groundhogs, foxes and a fisher cat, among other creatures.
