Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, has announced a $5,000 Foundation grant to OUT MetroWest in support of that organization’s Framingham drop-in program for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) youth.

“We appreciate the opportunity to assist OUT MetroWest as it strengthens its outreach efforts,” said Sousa. “The organization’s goal of ensuring that our communities are welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals and families is important to us.”

OUT MetroWest Executive Director Sawyer Bethel, LICSW stated that MutualOne Bank’s dedication to supporting disadvantaged residents of Framingham and Natick over the past year and a half has been invaluable.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Framingham, OUT MetroWest serves middle and high school youth in grades six to 12 through scheduled meetings, programmed events, and drop-in activities. Adult facilitators are versed in areas including counseling, education, cultural diversity, and adolescent mental health.

The Performing Arts Center of Metrowest will again offer their summer musical theater program, thanks in part to a recent $2,500 grant from MutualOne Bank’s Charitable Foundation. The grant was announced by Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee.

“The summer theater program provides performance opportunities for local elementary and middle school students,” said Sousa. “We are pleased to support the Performing Arts Center in their endeavor.”

According to Co-Founder and Executive Director David Blais, Daniel’s Table exists to create food security in the communities it serves. He stated they were on the cusp of providing food security for everyone in Framingham who needs it.

“Daniel’s Table offers a unique approach to those who worry where their next meal will come from,” stated Sousa. “We are pleased we can assist in the expansion of their program.”

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $5,000 to the Amazing Things Arts Center. Announcement of the grant was made by Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee.

The grant will support a new Creative Learning program for local artists and individuals interested in learning new skills and developing their creativity, according to Amazing Things Executive Director Jill Bennett.

“A vibrant local arts environment contributes to the health of the community,” said Sousa. “We are pleased to support the Amazing Things Arts Center in their endeavor.”

Robert P. Lamprey, chairman of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, has announced a $7,000 grant to support Family Promise Metrowest’s Local Initiative for Family Empowerment (LIFE) program.

“The LIFE program has been established to prevent families from becoming homeless by providing support to those at risk of eviction,” said Lamprey. “Early intervention is critical in preventing the cycle of homelessness, and MutualOne is pleased to support this program.”
