Dr. Kristin Carvalho, President and Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, has announced the promotion of Kimberly Tyler to Vice President, Controller and Treasurer.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Tyler joined MutualOne Bank in 2014, serving most recently as Vice President and Controller. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Assumption University and a Master of Business Administration from Framingham State University.
Dr. Kristin Carvalho, President and Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, has announced the promotion of James Monette to Vice President, Director of Retail Banking and Business Development.
Joining MutualOne Bank in 2023 as Vice President, Director of Retail Banking, Monette has been responsible for overseeing and directing the Bank’s retail branch offices. With his promotion, Monette will also oversee business development and relationship management.
With over 24 years of experience within the banking industry, Monette holds a Master of Business Administration from Assumption University and a Bachelor of Science in communications from Fitchburg State University.
Dr. Kristin Carvalho, President and Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, has announced the promotion of Daniel Serafin Sr. to Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer.
Joining MutualOne Bank in 2022, as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Serafin has worked with the team to expand the Bank’s digital offerings to benefit both customers and staff.
With over 30 years of IT experience in the financial services industry, Serafin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell as well as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, and Netware Engineer certifications.
Mark Haranas to Continue to Serve as Chairman of the Board
The Board of Directors of MutualOne Bank announced that, with the retirement of Mark R. Haranas, Dr. Kristin Carvalho has been named Chief Executive Officer.
Serving as legal counsel to the Bank beginning in 1989, Haranas began his tenure as CEO of what was then Framingham Co-operative Bank in 2008. Among Mark’s many accomplishments was stewarding the 2012 merger of Framingham Co-operative Bank with Natick Federal Savings Bank to create MutualOne Bank – a mutual bank offering a range of personal and commercial banking solutions which has grown to become a $1.2 billion institution.

An accomplished senior executive leader with over 25 years in banking, financial services, and audit, Carvalho has helped several leading community financial institutions increase market share and profitability while maximizing productivity.
Since joining MutualOne Bank in 2022 as President, Chief Operating Officer, and Treasurer, Carvalho has overseen the exponential growth of the Bank’s digital offerings as well as plans for future expansion. In addition to serving as CEO, she will continue her role as President and will serve on the Board of Directors.
Prior to joining MutualOne Bank, Carvalho served as President/CEO and Chairman of the Board at Cobblestone Management, LLC and President/CEO and Director of Milford National Bank and Trust Company. She also served as Vice President of Corporate Banking for Citizens Bank.
Carvalho holds a Master of Science in Financial Services and Banking from Suffolk University and a Master of Business Administration, Management from Bryant University. She also earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island and is an Adjunct Faculty member at Boston University.
Though he has stepped down as CEO, Mark will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board for MutualOne Bank.
Mark Haranas, Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, announced the hiring of Robyn Petersen as Assistant Vice President, Floating Branch Manager, Administrator.
Before joining MutualOne Bank, Petersen was Consumer Lending Manager at MIT Federal Credit Union for 13 years. She also held various roles at DIRECT Federal Credit Union, where she was employed for over 20 years.
In her new role, she is responsible for collaborating with upper leadership to ensure consistency across the branches while assisting with projects and initiatives to promote the Bank’s growth. Petersen will also step in as Branch Manager as needed.
Petersen is a graduate of Northeastern University with an associate degree in business administration.
Mark Haranas, Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, recently announced the promotion of Joleen Dick to Assistant Vice President, Digital Banking Officer, and Samantha Ramos to Client Services Assistant Manager/Officer.
Dick started with the Bank in 2016 and has held various responsibilities over the years, most recently as Client Services Manager. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the Bank’s digital programs and client services activities. Dick holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.
Ramos joined the Bank team in 2019 as a Personal Banker. In her new position she will support Client Services in overseeing the call center and help assist customers. Ramos is currently pursuing her Digital Banker Certification through the American Bankers Association.
